What Ozzie Loves
My Family
Family and Home are the most important things in my life. I have enjoyed
being a wife, mom and homemaker. I believe those were very important jobs and probably worth more in $$$$ than many
people think. The retirement pay isn't too good though! This Baby Boomer is considering finding part
time work.
I'm proud of the fact that my children enjoy coming home to visit. They talk with
me and include me in their lives and that feels pretty darn good.
I'm also proud of how each of my four children turned out. They are all good,
kind and caring people.....good citizens, and interesting companions. I
must have done something right! You'll find some of my family pictures on another page.
A Fond Memory
Raising some of my kids in the late 60's and 70's was probably much easier
than it is today. I'm not sure I want to thank Dr. Spock for that even though he was a big influence back then on childcare.
Money was tight for us in those days so my kids weren't able to have a lot of material things. They played outside a
lot and played card games and board games inside when the weather was bad.
I can remember serving up lots of kool aid and homemade popsicles not only
to my kids but many neighborhood friends too. My youngest son was born in 1981 and even though he had sibblings, he
was more like an only child. Even though times were changing, he also played outside a lot with friends and shared kool
aid with them. The kool aid days are gone but I'll never forget them.
Our Home
Our house is one of my favorite things. We had it built 35 years ago and I'm pretty attached
to it. It's not too big and it's overfull but it's all ours. We have a living room, kitchen, three bedrooms, a
music room and one and a half baths. We have a 2 car garage and a really large yard with several trees and lots
of flowers. Even though I love our home, I think you could persuade me to move into a brand new bigger house..........go
ahead, twist my arm!> Below you'll see pictures of my home
and some of my flowers. I also added one of our new car too!

Lots of Flowers
I love growing flowers in my yard. Our cat Ozzie likes to watch out the window
as I work in my flower beds. I grow annuals, perennials and roses. I have Asiatic lilies, Oriental lilies and
Day lilies. I developed a love of plants as a child from my favorite Aunt Terry.
My favorite flower is the rose. My mom's name was Mary Rose and I have an
English shrub rose that is named Mary Rose. It's a beautiful shade of pink with large fluffy blooms.
I had over 20 kinds of roses several years ago when I was at my gardening peak.
ha! They take quite a bit of care because they require pruning, feeding, spraying and lots of water. Their beauty
in mid to late May is well worth the time it takes to care for them.
